Law Menu
Lawmen in The State of Monroe are tasked with upholding law and order throughout the state. In order to assist and manage this they have our in game law menu
Functionality
To access the law menu you must first be in the vacity of one the states “law zones” The current full list of law zones are;
- Blackwater Sheriff's Office - West Elizabeth
- Strawberry Sheriff’s Office - West Elizabeth
- Valentine Sheriff's Office - New Hanover
- Ambarino Hill Sheriff’s Office - New Hanover
- Annesburg Sheriff’s Office - Lemoyne
- Rhodes Sheriff’s Office - Lemoyne
- St Denis Sheriff’s Office - Lemoyne
- Sisika State Prison - Lemoyne
- Fort Mercer USMS Office - New Austin
- USMS Headquarters - St Denis
While standing inside one of these zones press T to open the command prompt. Type into the command window /law and this will bring up the law menu.
Clocking System
The first option on the law menu is the clocking feature. This should be used by lawmen who are coming on and off duty. To go on duty simply Left Click the “Clock In” button on the menu. This will display a notification in the bottom right of your screen that you are now clocked in and the menu option should change to “Clock out”.
Lawmen will only earn their pay while actively clocked in and should only be clocked in while actively on duty conducting law work. Please ensure you clock out when you wish to go off duty. (Pay logs will be actively checked to ensure this is being done correctly)
Filing Cabinet
The filing cabinet is how lawmen keep track of criminal records, fines and other information relating to citizens of Monroe.
Searching Existing Records
Before adding a new citizen record you should first search to ensure they do not already have a criminal record. If there is one existing you should add a new report to the citizens existing record.
Adding New Record
Click on Add Record button, this will bring up a new window with a series of fields that need to be filled in to add a record to the cabinet.
- Character Name - Add the name the citizen gives you upon arrest
- Add Their Gender - Select between male, female or other if unsure.
- Mugshot - Always be sure to grab a mugshot of the person in question and place the image url in the specified field.
- Ethnicity - Add the citizens ethnicity to their record, if unsure select others.
- Description - Enter other physical features about the suspect such as; height, build, hair color, eye color, scars or distinct markings.
Adding A Report
Once you’ve accessed or created a new record for a citizen you can add criminal reports to their record.
Once on the specific record you can add a report by clicking the “add report” button. This will bring up a new window with a field that you write your report in. (Please follow the desired format laid out by your Sheriff)
Once you’ve written your report you can add charges.
Adding Charges
Once the report is written you must add your charges in order to file and complete it.
To add a charge click on the drop down menu in the report window and select from the list of federal laws displayed what to charge with. Once selected click add charge and this will automatically add a fine amount and sentence duration to the record.
Multiple charges can be added as required and the totals of all fines and sentences will be tallied up for you. Once completed click on the file report button and the charge will be added to the citizens record.
Searching Records
If you’re looking to search someone's criminal history and not add a new report. Simply find the citizen in question's record and click the “view reports” button. This will bring up the full criminal history of that person for crimes committed all around The State of Monroe.
Tip Line
The tip line is a feature that allows law offices to receive telegrams from citizens of the state. These will generally be reports of suspected or witnessed crimes, applications to join the law office or general enquiries.
On the law menu you will see any outstanding “tips” indicated by the red marker displayed next to the “Tip Line” button.
When you click on the tip line, this will take you to a directory of any tips that haven’t been taken.
Clicking on a tip from the directory will open up the telegram message for you to read. Once read you can choose to leave that telegram in the directory by hitting the “cancel” button or “take” to remove that telegram.
Taking the tip will generate a physical item of that telegram in your inventory and remove it from the directory. Be careful not to lose it as the contained information could lead to trouble for all involved.
Armory
Handcuffs
The armory menu gives lawmen access to retrieve a pair of standard issue cuffs, vital for conducting law work in The State of Monroe. Simply click the “Get Cuffs” button in the armory menu and a pair of cuffs will be added to your satchel.
Evidence Locker
The evidence locker button allows lawmen to access an inventory of items stored within that specific law office. Simply click “Evidence Locker” and it will bring up your character satchel and evidence locker inventory side by side. Generally these will be things confiscated from criminals or Department Issue weapons, ammo and food.
